Fraunhofer UMSICHT presents new developments and approaches for climate-friendly plastics at Biopolymers and Beyond in Vienna, organized by Biobase. Dr. Robert Daschner is taking part with a presentation entitled »Climate-friendly plastics: Utilization of biomass waste as feedstock for steam crackers - New developments in conversion technologies and new approaches for further processing«. He will also discuss research into the utilization of sewage sludge.

Fraunhofer UMSICHT is participating in PRC Europe 2025 in Milan with a presentation by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Matthias Franke, head of the Sulzbach-Rosenberg branch of the institute, on the topic of »Utilizing waste biomass as steam-cracker feedstock: new developments in conversion technologies and novel approaches to downstream processing«.

Fraunhofer UMSICHT is participating in the cleanair 2025 - 16th International Conference on Combustion Technologies for a Clean Environment. In his presentation, Christian Groves, Department Clean Combustion and Process Heat, will talk about a pyrolysis gas cleaning system for oxyfuel combustion with prior hydrogen extraction.

Fraunhofer UMSICHT is participating in this year's EUBCE 2025 in Valencia - the largest biomass conference and exhibition in the world. Various lectures and poster presentations on topics from the field of conversion technologies for residual and waste materials and processing and further processing options for conversion products will be presented. You will also gain an insight into innovations in oxyfuel combustion.

Fraunhofer UMSICHT is taking part in AMI Chemical Recycling 2025 in Brussels. At the booth you will meet Prof. Dr.-Ing. Matthias Franke, head of the Sulzbach-Rosenberg branch of the institute. He will also be presenting how conventional plastics can become CO2-neutral.

Fraunhofer UMSICHT is represented as a partner of the CCPE - Fraunhofer Cluster of Excellence Circular Plastics Economy - at this year's K in Düsseldorf. K is the leading international plastics trade fair. Scientists from the institute branch in Sulzbach-Rosenberg will be happy to answer questions about current, innovative technologies for the chemical recycling of plastics. Fraunhofer UMSICHT is participating in the Sardinia Symposium 2025 - 20th international symposium on waste management, resource recovery and sustainable landfilling, in Italy. In his presentation, Michael Peer from the Advanced Carbon Conversion Technologies department will talk about the chemical recycling of PVC-containing plastic waste for LED recycling using iCycle® technology.
