Prof. Dr.-Ing. Matthias Franke presents research technologies for chemical recycling

Fraunhofer UMSICHT is taking part in AMI Chemical Recycling 2025 in Brussels. At the booth you will meet Prof. Dr.-Ing. Matthias Franke, head of the Sulzbach-Rosenberg branch of the institute. He will also be presenting how conventional plastics can become CO2-neutral.

This fair focuses on research into the potential of chemical or advanced recycling to convert plastic waste into new materials.

Fraunhofer UMSICHT wants to make conventional plastics CO2-neutral by replacing fossil raw materials with renewable ones.

Learn more about our innovative approach to the production and processing of pyrolysis oils from biogenic residues as an alternative, non-fossil carbon source for the petrochemical industry.

We will present the technology of thermo-catalytic reforming, a combined pyrolysis and reforming process that produces stable, high-quality crude oils from biogenic residues that can be co-processed in a refinery.
