Prof. Dr.-Ing. Matthias Franke and Dr. Alexander Hofmann on new developments in conversion technologies and new approaches for downstream processing in the use of biogenic waste for steam crackers

Fraunhofer UMSICHT is participating in Go Circular in Rotterdam with a presentation by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Matthias Franke, head of the Sulzbach-Rosenberg branch of the institute, and Dr. Alexander Hofmann on the topic of »Utilizing waste biomass as steam-cracker feedstock: new developments in conversion technologies and novel approaches to downstream processing«.

In recent years, the chemical industry has increasingly focused on sustainable and environmentally friendly technologies. One promising approach is the use of waste biomass as a raw material for steam crackers. This option offers a double ecological dividend: it reduces the need for fossil fuels and at the same time reduces the environmental impact by utilizing biological waste.

In the session »Beyond Boundaries: Next-Gen Technologies Redefining Plastic Recycling«, Dr.-Ing. Matthias Franke and Dr. Alexander Hofmann will talk about new approaches to downstream processing.

The Go Circular event is a business-focused conference at which participants will discuss the key challenges of the circular economy for plastics.
